Oh me too, anon! Though during the original airing, I lost interest in s3, even though I kept writing fanfiction for it.

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!! I don't give a fuck about the changes. Different voice actors? Different names for the Shen Gong Wu? The Two-Dimensional/Three-Dimensional thing? I don't care. I give zero fucks.

Well, now that the fangirling is out of the way, here's the real secret: when Xiaolin Showdown ended I planned on starting my own fan webcomic just to keep it from dying. I had never made a webcomic, or any sort of comic. I couldn't draw back then. But I was dead set on doing it. I had some pages sketched out (they were terrible), some dialog written, even new Shen Gong Wu and new villains. I'm glad I didn't go ahead with it.

The picture shows the main cast drawn in a new art style: Omi (a short Chinese boy), Kimiko (a young Japanese female teenager), Clay (a young teenager, a cowboy from Texas) and Raimundo (a young male teenager from Brazil) who are young Xiaolin warriors and the heroes of the series, plus a new Xiaolin warrior named Ping Pong who looks almost identical to Omi except for a pair of green-lensed glasses he is wearing, and Dojo, the flying Chinese dragon they are riding, who is colored yellow instead of green like in the previous series.

It's been somewhere around seven years between the end of the first series and the announced start of the new series, and the first things revealed about the new series were a picture showing the new character designs (with the new characters initially shown as mysterious silhouettes) and a leaked trailer of a trial animation showing all the changes with placeholder voice acting. There's now a tumblr, an official website and a facebook page where more images are revealed:

In addition to the art style shift, and because the new series is being produced in a different country (making it difficult for some of the old voice actors to go and record) by a different studio and some things like names of items and character designs in the previous series remain copyrighted by Warner Brothers, the new series has different voice actors and different names for the Shen Gong Wu (mystical items that give the user superpowers). Add to that two new characters (Ping Pong, the Omi look-alike whose element is Wood, to compliment Omi's Water, Kimiko's Fire, Clay's Earth and Raimundo's Wind; and a female apprentice of the villain Chase Young called Shadow.) and an experimental shift to a Three-Dimensional art style for the Xiaolin Showdowns (battles or competitions for the Shen Gong Wu, where the magical rules governing the Showdowns shifted the current terrain, provided the competitors with the tools needed to compete and sometimes changed their outfits. There was a Showdown in nearly every episode), which were drawn in the same Two-Dimensional style as the rest of the show, and the fandom reacted with both apprehension and anticipation.

it's coming back?? that's awesome! I loved this show when I was little. I probably wouldn't even notice any changes in voice actors [unless they're annoying/really bad] because I was a lot younger and probably won't remember. I don't even remember the plot that much tbh.

I think this might be a smaller studio (the original creator, Christy Hui, is leading the project) doing it now instead of Warner Bros. I only found out this exists because I was browsing tumblr for Xiaolin Secret pictures and stumbled into their official tumblr (which reblogged a lot of fanmade gifs!).
