(Anonymous) 2013-06-21 12:22 am (UTC)(link)I don't think it's necessarily bad to start the friendship up again, but not in the way it used to be. If someone has been a shitty friend in the past, the friendship has to be different, you can't let them pull the same things they have before, and you have to be really clear about it.
I don't think it's bad to be acquaintances with someone who was once close too, sometimes you can like someone enough as a person to want to know what is going on with them, but you have to protect yourself from dealing with their shit on a regular basis.
Either way I'd try being honest about it, if the friendship is worth it then it can take the honesty.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-21 01:29 am (UTC)(link)'Okay, I'll try but *insert reason why she couldn't*" I could buy that her parents were strict about text/phone bill. But, online talk was short or nonexistent. I know she liked being invisible b/c she didn't want to talk to anyone. Also, I could never hang out with her til late (ie past 7) since she had a curfew. (We're about a year apart) Not to mention, every single time, her parental drama would become a central topic of conversation.
