"Istanbul" is actually originally by the Four Lads! (Though TMBG's version is much catchier.)

Love all of the Pushing Daisies covers but that is a fav. :D

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (snip) Original by... okay, I forget who does the original

Robert Hazard, at least theoretically. I'm unclear on whether his version was released before Cyndi's. (It was certainly recorded first, but I can't quite find if it was released.) That said, Laswell's seems to be based on Cyndi's rewrite, rather than Hazard's original. Not that I can actually understand most of Hazard's singing, nor find the lyrics online, but Cyndi's clearly diverges strongly in the last third.
