Why is this a thing? It's like the nerd/jock debate grew into a Godzilla sized monster and went into local politics. This has happened multiple times where I live, and every time I see a baseball or football fan I get a little resentful that our libraries' hours are so borked. I mean, the city isn't that big. Where are they going to put another stadium? The city government actually has to pay for the unsold seats in at least one of them, and the city doesn't have any money!

It's really irritating. I know that sports can be a big money maker, but seriously. I went to a large state university, and the tuition on that's going WAY up. Teacher's are getting cut and paid much less. Yet the state spends money on things like stadiums.

I mean, like sports all you want, but it should NOT be prioritized over something like education, especially when a university that used to be affordable for most people is costing ridiculous amounts.
