Nº17 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-09-28 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
It didn't make me dislike her, but it felt like she had died in a way, I cried for her, I missed the Ginny I'd come to love, it was hard seeing her treated like that and seeing other fans hate her so much.
I still like Harry/shy!Ginny, but I can't see post-HBP Ginny with Harry.

Well, I don't want to spoil DH for you, as you haven't read it, but it gets worse, believe me.

Quiet girls are apparently unworthy of a hero's attention in JKR's world.

I agree with you and [livejournal.com profile] atalantapendrag - alright, it's obvious, isn't it? - and I think that what probably happened is that JKR didn't want to give the impression that her hero would only consider a girl who wouldn't ever dare disagree with him. Problem is the new Ginny may be an obnoxious little pest and sass a lot, but she never really disagrees with anything Harry does, even when she should. It's like a makeover in which one changes the colour of one's lipstick or wears skirts instead of jeans, but never changes one's deep attitudes. *sigh*
