Hey, I said I hadn't read all of the books.* The Rachel I wanted to be like was the outspoken badass who stood up for herself and was strong and brave enough to protect the world from creatures who could take over your mind and your life without anyone noticing.

Actually, if she really became as bad as you say, I'm kind of glad I was able to keep my idea of her as a hero.

*Don't judge me. There are like a hundred of them, and reading about what the Controllers went through made me all sniffly.

All the Animorphs are that strong, though usually in less subtle ways. ...Rachel, actually, was never as strong as she acted. Gah, you really ought to try reading most of the books. There are some in the middle which are extremely revelatory. Like, the one where she tried to take over and be leader instead of Jake. See what happens and who has to step up instead.
