I have this whole personal view of how cannon was with Percy, Ron and Hermione, see she met Percy, fell head over heels, then he blamed Winky, and it broke her heart, and finally she goes and falls for another Weasley when he thinks of House Elves and kinda looks a bit like Percy, anyway. XDD

GOD, I know. When I heard the rumor, I was like, "Oh, bull plop. He's a joke shop owner. What would Death Eaters want with a joke shop owner? And why wouldn't they kill George, too? I mean, they're NEVER more than five feet apart..." ...why WAS George mysteriously missing? That bit haunts almost all the fanfics I write.

Reading/writing fanfics about it make me sob, but I don't stop. I dunno why, but it makes me feel better, in a weird, masochistic way...

XDD It's true! Ahh, the tragedy of Hermione and PErcy...

Yeah... Jesus, where was he? Well, it was a battle type situation, so obviously they could've been stationed at seperate places, but yeah, it's quite strange that that was one of the few times they were seen without eachother.

Auugh, just makes it sadder! I've only read one or two fics, but it almost helps me accept that they died XD It's so easy to go to an older book and say "hey look! They all happy and alive there!"

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I have a couple of personal cannon ideas for that, too, but they break my heart. :/ George's, too.

Really? Only two? God, I've written like ten post-DH fics, and read more than ten times as many. My obsession is disturbing. oO;

My favourite thing to do is flip through my original paperback copy of the first book, the one I got for Christmas the year it came out, and look at all the stuff I had dogeared, marked and highlighted. 90% of the lines I had highlighted are Fred and George lines, and some of the time I would go back after reading the latest book and write a little note, like after reading the fifth one I wrote "Aw, I miss them already." Over a couple lines, and in retrospect, that just makes me want to cry all over again.

XD Well, one fic is an uber long one, and college stresses and other life stuff means I haven't gotten round to finishing it. But yes, HP fic is great, I want to find some Marauders stuff to fill in the gaps of what happened in that generation.

Ahh, yes, I love rereading over stuff before and great moments with your favourite characters. Especially after the last book, you just a great appreciation for them after that!

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if you're not for slash then it might not all work, but [livejournal.com profile] shoebox_project is the only Marauder fic I read. (I didn't support the pairing before I read it either, but WOW is it good writing. XD) I'm afraid to read anything else after that, in fear that it might spoil it. (even something that JKR might release!)

Yeah, like parts with Neville in the beginning, you're like, "Hey! Show him some respect! He killed Nagini! You all owe him your asses!" XD

[identity profile] vontriz.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahh, slash is alright by me, I'm not madly into it, but I support a few slash pairings. So that sounds really good, gonna add that now and give it a read later, thanks! The Marauders generation are great really, so I always like to read stuff on them.

XD I know, I'm reading bits with Neville and people looking down on him, and I'm like "oh, he WILL be badass one day. You'll see. You'll all see!!" Even how Harry's progressed is great too, so much trauma unloaded to one lad, eh?

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well that's a better attitude than the one I had! XD When I was first given a link to SBP I was like, "WTF, are you kidding me? This thing is enormous! TL;DR, PLZKTNX. I don't even like Remus/Sirius, so bleh." I'm SO GLAD my friend made me read it, because it's basically cannon for me now. XDD

Yeah, I know! And just seeing how the writing in general has pogressed, to age with its readers. I mean, Look at the last chapter in the first book. It's like, what, twenty pages? And all in that chapter we have Harry finding out that it's Querrell he needs to fight, getting the stone, the fight with Voldemort, getting out of the hospital wing, winning the house cup and going home. ALL IN ONE CHAPTER. That would've taken about six or seven chapters in the later books. XD

[identity profile] vontriz.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Yes, my friend had me read a SnapexHarry fic, and, while I still find the couple to be really odd, it's a great fic, really well written and I need to get back into it...

Yeah! I'm rereading the fifth book and it takes about 150+ pages for them to actually get to school! Of course there's the trial and the Order business and whatnot, but it's so funny how detailed it's gotten. It's also funny to see Hermione in the first book, she seems so much dorkier back then =P

(Psst. Do you mind if I friend you? It's always fun to babble about fun shtuffs and you seem like a great babbler XD)

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy crap, yeah that couple's weird, but I've read a few addictive stories on it, too. Funny how that happens, huh? XD

God, I know. I remember first reading the fourth one, and I was like, "Jesus, it takes them eleven chapters before they get to school? What could possibly go on for ELEVEN CHAPTERS?" Which is hilarious, because it takes about twenty-nine chapters for them to get to Hogwarts in the seventh one, and I didn't even notice. XD I've noticed how Hermione kinda vamp'd out, too. Well, not VAMP'D OUT, but you know. At least she sorted out her priorities. XDD

Yay, okay! :D I am indeed a great babbler, and you seem like a wonderful one, yourself. XD Add'd.

[identity profile] vontriz.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, the one I'm reading now is great, it was written after the fourth book and almost acts as an alternative as to what happens. It's really great, I need to reread it, and the characters are really well done too.

XD Yes, I was like "Jesus, does this mean the 7th book won't be in Hogwarts? I dunno about that..." after the 6th, but it turned out to be way better than I thought! Kinda wish I got to see the malarky happening there!

Excellent, added back =D

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2007-09-30 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I love when it works like stories are like that...that's how Shoebox is. There are little subtle things that are cannon, like Remus's obsession with chocolate, and how when Sirius looks in the crystal ball in Trelawney's class, all he sees are foggy curtains blowing. (D:)

I was nervous, too. I was like, "Well, great, we've got the Golden Trio, but what about Neville? What about Dean and Seamus and McGoogles?! *fret fret fret*" But it all worked out. And we even got Percy back! I know a lot of Fred lovers blame him, but I don't. I love Percy. >.>; (Although I make George blame him a lot in my stories...)

Yay! ^^
