Two possible reasons:

1. Behind the scenes reason could be the whole 'bisexuals don't exist!' thing, or it could be they specifically want him to be gay for some other [probably not-so-cool reason].

2. In universe, it's entirely possible that he was having sex with the girls to keep from being pegged as completely gay. I don't know if it would be in character for him to care what other's thought, but if it is he could have been taking the track of 'Bi is better than gay' or just flat out believing something was wrong since society does push the whole 'You must be straight thing' pretty hard sometimes.

Don't worry. I'm in my mid 20s, I've never wore make up (except the occasional nail polish) and the only 'beauty' products I use is basic curl foam for my hair - and the world is still standing.

[Picture is Ricky, from the MTV TV show "Awkward".]

Why do they continually call him gay? The dude slept with the majority of the school population. It's almost like they don't want to say he was bisexual.

It's fucking Awkward whatamidoing.

[Picture is the logotype of the "Sephora" brand of beauty products.]

I feel like a failure because I don't know how to use any product in here even though I know in theory what they should do.

1) Ask the salespeople for a free demo - it couldn't hurt.
2) There are metric fucktons of video tutorials for all kinds of makeup and beauty products - go Google some.
3) Go to the beauty product manufacturer's website and read the product FAQs or ask a question in their forums.
4) Ask a trusted friend who is into makeup for some information.
5) Experiment on Halloween or on some other costume party type occasion. That way, if you goof up or come up with a look that is not you, you won't feel too embarrassed.
6) Get a makeover at a beauty salon and ask for makeup pointers.

n!s: Not in that fandom, but I know the feeling. :/ I've been really annoyed with how lots of Orphan Black fans will call Cophine lesbians when at least one explicitly came out as bi (dunno about the other, the creators have said conflicting things in interviews).
