Do You Ever Want To Tattle to Someone's Parents?

This one girl on my facebook friends list (childhood classmate a long time ago) recently posted this rant about religion that was so incredibly offensive, badly thought out and just plain stupid, that it annoyed the crap out of me. I'm not even religious.

And ever since I read that rant, there's a part of me that has the extreme urge to call her Mom and tell her what her daughter says on facebook to her non-family friends, including about her drug use, which she specifically asked people not to talk about.

To be clear, I would never ever actually do this -- there are so many reasons why it would be completely fucked up. But MAN do I have the urge.

You should try to channel your anger into more productive paths, I think. I mean, into things other than "trying to hurt her because she angers you." That's not a great response.

ngl, I got the urge last year because my roommate was one of the dumbest, god awful people I've ever known. her mom would drop by sometimes and I could hear her lying her ass off to her from my room. sometimes I just wanted to leap out of my bedroom and shout about her how rotten the fruit of her loins was but I resisted. luckily she isn't my roommate anymore

It's a synonym for children. "fruit of her loin" = her daughter. She's calling her daughter rotten.

Sometimes, yeah. Especially when someone's just being a douchebag for the sake of it. It'd be useless, but sometimes I feel like I know a lot of people who would be a lot better individuals if their parents were on their friend's list.

And then there's the people whose parents I know would just chuckle and be bizarrely proud.

No. In fact I would never even think to tell someone's parents something like that. Unless I suppose the person is a minor, then I could maybe see letting the parents know. But even then doubtful.

yes, especially being underage. I know plenty of people who are smokers, drug users, alcoholics, abusive boyfriends, sex addicts, and more...all before the age of 18. it's not like I've been "above the influence" my whole life, but I've always had boundaries that I choose never to cross, and I think it's made me a better person. meanwhile, I see other kids doing such adult (and immature at the same time) things and I'm just like, can I get your mom's number? haha.

But then, there's a reason they're are like that, aren't they? I think they must not have been very good parents to start with if their offsprings turned out that way...

I think we all have urges to do things that we shouldn't, particularly when people piss us off, but I think resisting is usually the way to go, Anon. *hugs* Stay strong.
