Re: Things You Love That Other People Hate

Going anon for this because it's something I never admit, and I wouldn't necessarily call it love, but I really don't mind the taste of my own snot. (Maybe TMI explanation ahead)

When I was really little, I'd get colds all the time and it'd just sort of run down all over my nose and lips no matter how much I blew it. Rather than carry around an endless supply of tissues, my three/four-year-old self did the most natural thing that came to mind. I just swiped my tongue up and licked it off.

Despite my parents scolding me and my sister teasing me, it became a habit. I still haven't been able to kick it to this day. (I just make sure I do it only when I'm home by myself and no one else's around.

And honestly it doesn't take all that bad, just sort of salty. But it's got that super gross stigma, like almost unbelievably gross. Like picking your nose is on one scale of eww and picking your nose and eating it is... unhuman? And personally I don't see the different between eating that vs haggis or scorpion lollipops or maggoty cheese, but I guess there is.

Don't worry, plenty of people like the taste of their own snot! Nose-picking is a thing for a reason.

Mmm. I consider it a bit gross, but I mean...when I was a kid I used to chew my hair. Like realllllyyyyy chew. I'd just grab a part of it and chew, chew, chew.

I used to do that, too. I liked the texture.

well the snot itself is just a secretion, but keep in mind that its purpose is to make pollution and dirt and other things cling to it so they don't get into your lungs, so eating it might (might) get you sick

On the other hand, they might have an immune system of steel...
