It's pure opinion and preference, of course, but I prefer genderswap that is just like that. Could be because the one time I saw fix that went about exploring the consequences of a character being a different gender, it turned horrifyingly essentialist and really OOC.

A lot of the ones I've seen go really OOC, too. That's why I qualified well-done genderswap. It's ... vanishingly rare.
