Bleach Ichigo Hate?

Is it just me or is it popular for people to hate Ichigo? The places I've been going for discussion after new chapters have all been along the lines of "shut up/cry moar Ichigo", "go away Ichigo so we can get some interesting story", ect.

He generally has quite a bit of off-screen time because of the massive number of supporting characters so I've been glad to see him again in the recent chapters after such a long absence. I was really surprised that everyone seems to be complaining that he's there at all.

I could understand that someone might not like him; but he's the main character - this part of his character development/arc is contributing to the overall plot, and before the recent chapters really hadn't appeared all that much so he needed to show up.

I just don't get the vitriol being spat in his direction for having some character development.

I think it's more frustration at poor storytelling, then anything else

the hated character(s) tend to rotate with the story arcs

Yeah, this. A lot of hate for him I think is just the culmination of people getting sick of the all the shit Kubo keeps pulling, and along with displeasure rotating from story arc to story arc, I think Ichigo tends to end up with the a lot of the most enduring and lingering narrative baggage.

It's just what happens when a series lives way too long, I think. Though most people I see still like him a lot or don't dislike him, but are more invested in other characters.
