Re: Losing Interest?

(Anonymous) 2013-06-24 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, well, first of all, I don't think you should do anything drastic, at least not immediately. The thing is, there's a couple different things that could be going on here, you know? It's possible that you've just lost interest in your major - people change over your time, maybe it just doesn't have the same pull for you that it used to. It's possible that you're having an existential crisis of sorts, wondering why you're doing all this and trying to find your motivation and your identity. And it's also possible that you still kind of associate all the crappy, nerve-wracking things that happened last year with your coursework and with science, and so you expect it to be bad. I don't know. It could even be all three.

So I guess the thing to do is go back to school, take it a little easier, take your classes, and see if you can find a way to enjoy science when you don't have so much stress and craziness going on (hopefully), or try to figure out whether it really is just something you're not interested in anymore. And if it's the latter, well, go from there.

I'm sure you'll work it out either way, though. It'll all work out. Good luck! You can do it!
