I know a number of things can be resized / color changed / etc, but it's funny, the size of the bookmarks bar never would have struck me as small. I'm probably just used to it.

I adjusted pretty quickly because I like having the things I want easily visible without seeing other things I don't want to (I don't know if that sentence makes any sense). I'd suggest playing with all the preferences for system and application to get a feel for it and make it look a little more familiar. But I do know it's a lot easier to go Windows to Mac than the other way around :) It won't take you long.
