I think I was a senior when I read it. I'm not sure how badly I would have reacted to it, if things weren't on such a downward spiral in my own life... I had three deaths in six months, and at the time it just seemed so much easiser to blame the book for my breakdown. It really did scare me, so I would use that word... and it wasn't like I thought I was going to be raped. It was just such an ... unsettling thing to read.

I met Jhonen Vasquez a couple years ago at Comic Con and didn't even realize who it was. My friend was a fan and I followed her over to him where we said hi, they talked a little while I was quiet, and then departed ways. It wasn't until I asked my friend who it was until I was like "Ooooh."

32. I feel you, honestly. There's so much possibility in the fandom, but all of the ships that have really stolen my heart are obvious/mainstream: Tezuka/Fuji, Sanada/Yukimura, etc. And what's worse, fandom has a habit of making mainstream shippers feel like sellouts, somehow. Bastards.

So sorry to hear all that too ;_;

yeah i know what you mean. it was really unsettling. i mean, i didn't hate the book... but that part left me shivering. i could barely read the boks climax because i was afraid it would happen again! For a long time I barely read any books for my age group because I was afraid there'd be more of that stuff!
and im rambling sorry!

Holy shit, this is the first time I've ever met ANYONE who knows that book. It totally messed me up as a kid, too, but it's one of my favorite books because of it.

you are right, the best point of FMA is the strong, dependable yet gentle women in the story, I wish there are more animes with awesome females like FMA (where the women characters are weak, or even when they are strong enuff, they still need their man to save their ass)

22. I loved the first twenty-five episodes! Then the plot went to hell, Ed became just TOO angsty, things like archinator EXISTED and it suffered horribly from "random ass anime plot twist ED! cuz we don't know how the hell to end what we started". And that was before I got into the manga and realized Ed wasn't supposed to be constantly traumafaced angsty mcemopants. But I scorn it in the abusive older brother way. I'm glad it existed, it's fun to laugh at, I don't really care if others agree/disagree, and I don't regret my time as a fan.

35. I READ THAT BOOK. AND CRIED. AND I STILL REMEMBER HOW IT ENDS. .......not as bad tho as the one. that I don't remember the name of but the Awesome Badass Kitty was named Minvera. .....my current cat is named after her. I cried at the end of that =\ ......to my fourth grade teacher. Orz.
