Such a beautiful series <3
Spend all the time you can there, wacky crossovers or not.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-26 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I used to do this, too. I loved this series so much and it was impossible not to cross it over with everything else. Sadly, I got sick of having to reread the earlier books every time he finally put out a new one and I stopped after Wizard and Glass. Of course then he started publishing them in rapid succession because the world is kind of against me that way...

The new one (Wind Through the Keyhole) is pretty good for that, what with being outside canon.

Are you me, OP? :D Dark Tower crossovers are a must whenever I'm reading something. Never going to write any (I'm a terrible writer), but eh, it's always fun to image anyway.

[Picture is the cover of the series of books "The Dark Tower" by Stephen King. The cover shows a man with a hat and a coat holding a gun, with his back to the viewer. He's looking at the horizon of a desert, where the sun is either setting or rising, while an eagle flies overhead.]

Every shadow, every movie, every book, every Real Person Fic fandom I have ever liked (except comedies)... I eventually crossover with The Dark Tower in my head. I am just fascinated with how random characters would deal with going todash, with ending up in The Territories, with ol' Long, Tall and Ugly himself.

I've never told anybody about all my weird crossover head canons. And the idea of writing any of them makes me cringe superstitiously. The original author has never been able to stop writing in this world.

The bird in the picture is supposed to be a crow rather than n eagle, I think.

Thanks for the clarification!

I think this might be relevant to your interests, OP

Thank you!

I do the same thing, OP. All of my fics have some small element of this story in them somewhere, usually unintentional. And I think it's great that it has so wrapped up King's imagination that he does the same thing.

I'm really sad this wasn't secret 19.

YOU TOO?

Huzzah! It's not just me!

(damn, that reminds me, I should get back to that epic Hellblazer/DT crossover... and the panfandom Mid-World game... aaaand...)

I stalk that tag like crazy and I can't believe it doesn't have more fic. It's such a great universe!

(Anonymous) 2013-06-27 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I DO THIS TOO. And most of my other favorite authors' stories are SO EASY to connect!

I also write Next Time fic in my head. Can't talk about it b/c of spoilers (and I'm adamant about NOT spoiling book 7 for other fans - I was spoiled for Something Big at F!S when I was in Book 5, and aargh!!!) but the things I think about are either fix-its (not that I dislike the Ending, just the ends of some characters' paths), or "what if you replace X with Y at time Z?" situations. This is a GREAT series for playing with How Things Are Different Now, and it's SO much fun!

I'm absolutely terrible about posting fic, maybe this secret will encourage me to actually get some things up?

SA

...And how is this not secret #19? That would have made my week.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-27 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Rock on. Don't ever stop.

(Hey, it's not secret nineteeth, but thirteen for Black 13? I can dig it.)

I was always sad that The Dark Towers crossover was never finished.
