I like him as a younger, AU Spock with a different backstory. I don't PREFER him to the original, but I think he has his own unique charm. ("I am expressing several attitudes simultaneously, sir. To which are you referring?" omg captain I am detecting LETHAL LEVELS OF SASS)

The only recast that actually made me cringe was Sarek. The character wasn't different like the Enterprise crew were, from his original version, but that guy can't hold a candle on Mark Lenard.
