To be honest, the fact that the series is not finished seriously puts me off the books. Some people I know have read them and they rave about how good they are, but I just can't invest all that time when the series is not finished and especially when it looks like it'll be more than 10 years before it ends. Maybe I'll give the books a shot when the whole thing is over, but right now? Nope. I'm off to read other (finished) books/series.

You will miss out the fandom. It will die once series is finished and all questions answered.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the fandom. I don't even follow fandom anymore for the things that I actually follow/like.
