So, people can only enjoy things if they're highbrow enough for you?

Seriously, some people enjoy light-hearted, simple stories.

Personally? I love things that don't take themselves too seriously. I feel like taking stories seriously is my job as a fan. A lot of more intentionally serious works just make me roll my eyes.

Let people have their fun!

That's... totally not the point of my comment. Did you read the secret? We're talking about people who don't know Pokemon games have simple stories. "Things that don't take themselves seriously are bad" is the opposite of my point.

I'm a huge Pokemon fan, btw. I just like the games for what they actually are.

I did read the secret, yes. I must have misunderstood your point, however. I apologize.

Nah man it's cool. I was being pretty snarky and I've had that misinterpreted in the past, so it's not everyone else who's the problem, obviously.

I do love lighthearted stuff and even love more realistic fannish interpretations of lighthearted stuff, but when people start insisting that the source material is actually already like that (especially Part That Is Their Favorite and if you don't agree then you just don't know anything!!!) and act like they should be able to expect it to be like that, it just gets silly. Just catch the Pokemon and write fanfics about it jeez.
