Another site I'm a regular on had this question, and I found the responses and reasonings from the posters frame of reference fascinating.

Bilbo Baggins. I don't like change or adventure. I freak out when things happen without warning. If a group of hot guys came into my house and starting messing shit up, I'd just halfheartedly fight and then give up. And if hot guys were like, "Come on an adventure!!!!" I'd be like, "Welll, no................................okay."

I've even been told such. I don't consider myself quite that oddball, but uhm. I do know I'm odd, and I suppose it's a valid enough comparison in quite a few ways.

It's comic about a young and extremely socially awkward girl who took way too many of those otome games (like dating sims, where a girl is the one you play) seriously that she thinks she's legit awesome because she's awesome at these games where she is totally a popular person. Not so much irl where she is like a tumblr fangirl gone too far with weirdo habits, and now she's gotta try and level up her social skills.

Probably Abed Nadir. I tried to think of someone else, because that seems like such a cliche, but my memory is failing me.

Keigo Asano from Bleach. Kind of cute and dorky but mostly clueless and annoying, and ultimately irrelevant to the plot.

Dean Winchester minus the awesome saving the world stuff. I have his emotional and family issues. I drown said issues in various things and mask them with humor. I'm very protective of my family. I have a general need to help/protect people such that I push myself to far and end up doing too much and burning out.

Basically, I'm all the bad parts of Dean. Not the awesome parts.

Jim Halpert. I always wish I had a camera to mug to because people are stupid.

I'd love to be someone totally awesome, but I have this horrible suspicion I'd be Filch.
