I was in Dohuk, Iraq, which is the capital of the Iraqi part of Kurdistan. I've never been entirely clear about this, but I think Kurds are Muslim but a different sect with different laws to most of Islam? Because I know usually Muslims can't eat anything like that but there it was pretty commonplace, or at least not unheard of. It was a burger and I didn't know it was dog at first. It tasted different than a beef burger but good, so I just keep eating. But when our guide took a bite of his, he flipped out and started screaming about it being dog. The cook said something along the lines of "of course," which I guess made it all the more offensive to our guide because the restaurant didn't have a sign or the right sign advertising that they served dog. I'd already eaten about half of it and liked it before I knew what it was, so I finished it. I've never had an opportunity to have it since, though I will if I ever travel somewhere else that raises dog as livestock.

are dogs tasty? does their deliciousness vary by breed? pugs look like they would be the least tasty of dogs but maybe floppy skin would actually be better.

you might not know these answers, i guess. i'm kind of tempted to call petco

The dog burger I had tasted very good, but I don't know what breed it was or anything like that. I doubt it was any particular breed and would guess it was just a midsized or large mutt, based on the dog farm I saw a couple days later.

oh geez i love burgers. i don't think i'm going to look at dogs the same anymore now that i know they have the potential to be delicious burgers
