Excellent points. (And joining Starfleet would be just as epic as being the doctors companion, imo. You would probably have a better chance of survival too.)

Yep! And it would be pretty easy to plan to join Starfleet, too; I know if I lived in the Star Trek universe I would be studying and training to get into Starfleet my whole life, whereas you kind of just have to be there to become the Doctor's companion.

Oh yeah, survival would be a lot higher for Starfleet; I mean, if the Doctor just showed up and was like "hey, want to be my companion?" I'd say yes, no questions asked, but if I had a choice for Doctor Who vs Star Trek...

It feels weird to say that Starfleet is more realistic, but it is! Lol. You're right about the doctor; most people would never so much as see him, much less travel with him.
