Why is it that I always want the characters I find hottest to bottom? Isn't it usually the other way around?

Really? I wouldn't think it was that weird to want to see your favorite characters on the receiving end of pleasure rather than the giving one. Although I definitely like my favorites best at their most vulnerable, so I might be biased.

Maybe. For me it is less about seeing them getting pleasure (though that is awesome too) and more that men on the bottom are fucking hot. And I tend to picture myself as the one on top. Which seems a little weird to me since I'm definitely not male.

Nice to know I'm not alone. Whenever I have conversations about this sort of thing in real life, they are always talking about how they want the particular male character to take them or how they'd do anything that character said. And I always wondering if it is strange that I never find that remotely hot.

I don't usually read het with him, but I def find him bottoming hotter than the opposite; I can see why you'd want it. Idk, I guess it's partially because of the visual (Oh, the visual) and because it's kind of awesome to think that a starship captain would be comfortable enough to let someone else take charge.

And I don't think the favorite thing is weird. Most my favorites are the ones I prefer to bottom (regardless of appearance, actually. Not sure why it works like that, but...).

This is pretty much my reason for loving it. Men who are bossy trusting someone else in the bedroom is pretty much the hottest thing ever for me. I'm not sure why, but it is.

I'll read Kirk in any pairing. And het in general where the man isn't in charge is so rare that I'll take it even for fandoms I know nothing about.

Can't say I blame you. I would read more het with Kirk if I knew he wasn't going to be in charge.

(And I feel the same about women being in charge! It's depressingly rare.)

Literally all nu Trek het involving Kirk has him on the bottom though ( sometimes, there's even pegging involved)

Me too! I love it when characters in charge let someone else take over in the bedroom. I also like it when a ridiculously strong character (like Thor) bottoms for the same reason. Yet it never happens...

Actually, again, with Billy/Teddy from Young Avengers I prefer Teddy to bottom, but he's physically larger and stronger and it doesn't seem to happen.

Considering Chris Hemsworth, IMHO, is the hottest man on the planet, bottom!Thor would be the most amazing thing ever. I've found a couple bottom!Thor/top!Steve (somewhere, can't remember where). But there aren't many. There needs to be more.

In-charge/physically strong men who choose to submit are just about the hottest thing that exists. Of all my kinks, this one is my favorite and also probably the one that is written least.

To me there seems something hotter about someone who chooses to submit to someone physically weaker than them or a subordinate to them. That they trust someone that much. That they could easily overpower the other person and don't. That in their regular life they give commands but in the bedroom are the one to take them. Pretty much nothing is hotter to me.

you should try some mshep/kaidan fic, even if you're not in the mass effect fandom then, because " in their regular life they give commands but in the bedroom are the one to take them" is pretty much that pairing in canon* and in fic, as far as i've found.

Really? I feel like I see way more top!Shep than top!Kaidan. I might just fail spectacularly at finding it though.

in fairness, literally the only mshenko fic i read is spicyshimmy's, and while they do switch it up from time to time, her kaidan is trends toward being the more "dominant"/toppy one

So of course I agree 100% and am all kinds of disappointed that more fic doesn't exist in these cases. Especially with Thor. Because mmm. (Thor/Steve is actually a pairing I adore but I haven't found much of it and the ones I have usually have Steve bottoming. I'm so bad at finding fic that hit my kinks. Actually, ngl, I would read anything with Thor bottoming, because, again, damn, but it's practically nonexistent so I don't even bother searching anymore.)

Kirk is physically weaker (and smaller in TOS) than Spock though >:D
