I agree with you, anon. People in fandom kept telling me to watch the show and how amazing it was but I ended up hating Tony. He was so incompetent and whiny and self-centered, and it always seemed like his dick needed action every episode. Did fandom only like him because he was a good looking white guy or what? He's such an unlikable character, but I think if we were to take a poll it might show that characters like that always end up as the fandom darlings. When did fandom start liking the detestable characters instead of the awesome characters? When I was a kid I only liked the characters I wanted to grow up to be, and I'd have never liked these asshole characters who are so popular now.

Yep those are the reasons fandom likes him. That and he makes movie references and gets away with being an asshole. The female fandom wants to fuck him because he is (was, IMHO, he ain't no pretty boy no more) considered physically attractive and the male fans dream of being attractive and being allowed to get away with being an asshole offline. They already make stupid movie quotes and act like assholes online. Tony is just two hundred pounds and a neckbeard away from being the NCIS male fanbase.

it is also why the male fans really hate McGee. He was fat and socially incompetent, but he put in a lot of effort and slimmed down and became a decent person. How dare he betray the fat geeks by showing them they can change with effort. Doesn't he know that it is just supposed to happen and they shouldn't need to try? Bastard.

And Ziva gets hate because she is a fucking child murdering Mossad bitch.
