I think there is this fandom distinction that says "the sane people are fans and the crazy ones are the fangirls/boys".

I'm glad it meant something to you! :) Sometimes seemingly-unimportant things can help us come to terms with stuff we need to deal with in our own lives. It may not always mean the same thing to you, like being really important, but clearly this was a help to you and that's a good thing.
