The highlighted news says: "Labor returns to Kevin Rudd in bid to avoid election wipeout. Leadership ballot - which Rudd won 57 to 45 - must now be confirmed by hung parliament for Rudd to be sworn is as Prime Minister". All the other links and news sections in the screen-captured image are about reactions to those news.]
My first thought when hearing about this was that I'd love to see some The Thick Of It-like vaguely fictionalised version of this. I know it's serious stuff but...I miss The Thick Of It.
Bonus secret: I'm neither British nor Australian.

(Anonymous) 2013-06-30 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)Haha, wow. I'm not sure what "TTOI" is, but at least someone's getting some form of enjoyment out of Australian politics.
Me? I just find it depressing. I think I'll just draw cartoons all over my paper when I have to vote.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-01 03:54 am (UTC)(link)I am trying to bury my head in the sand here as an Australian. The only time I've discussed this at length was one of those phone surveys the day after the leadership spill. Australian politics is fucked, and Abbott makes me want to leave Earth.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-02 02:54 am (UTC)(link)I hate Abbott, I will be so disappointed with Australia if he gets in. Well more disappointed then I already am.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-01 07:35 am (UTC)(link)I think it's the only thing that made me feel okay about terrible politics.
If they got me through Howard, they can get me through this.
I feel like I'm being forced to vote for Labor even after all of the shit they've pulled just because I despise Tony Abbott.
If the Liberal government had a more charismatic leader, they would almost look tempting to me right now.
I will never admit that IRL though, because I actually vote Greens in local elections. Hell, if we had a Sex Party rep here...
