(Anonymous) 2013-06-30 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)Hobbit breaks down quite well into a trilogy length. Mirkwood-Laketown is a movie itself when you think of all that happens in that section (trekking through the long dark, the spider battles, captured by the elf court, having to escape the elf-court, dealing with laketown and setting up for moving on, that is a lot of material for a movie to fit in). And tricking out a dragon and a massive battle, that is also a single movie to most other directors.
