Yes! He's an excellent character -- lots of fun and extremely well written and likable, but when he starts showing up everywhere and other characters are ignored because of him it becomes a bit much. Not everything has to be centered on his and Shepard's relationship! (As awesome as that relationship is.)

(I've never been one to connect with that statement, but I agree with Garrus. Since ME1 I thought he would make a great love interest, but then ME2 came along and it didn't do much for me; it felt lacking, imo. Like most of the romances, it could've been handled better. And I feel like Shep's relationship with Garrus is special and lovely -- romance or not, so with most of my Shep's we stay friends.)

:O ARE YOU ME?! That's how I felt when I played the romance in 2. The Romance in 3 is a lot better but it still felt like it was lacking.

I DON'T THINK I AM? UNLESS I HAVE MULTIPLE PERSONALITIES I'M UNAWARE OF. OH GOD.

But in all seriousness, I think I felt that way because there was no lead-up to it. One second the two are bff's and the next Shepard is flirting and they start planning a date. As far as I remember, there's never any indication that either of them harbored romantic feelings for each other before that point or were even particularly attracted to each other, and that was disappointing to me. There's nothing wrong with having a storyline like that, it just felt sort of sudden and empty.

From what I've seen of Shep/Garrus in 3 it does indeed look like they did a better job of making the relationship authentic and satisfying, but at the same time by ME3 I'd lost most my interest in the pairing so I didn't bother finishing that playthrough. Also, again, I thought the friendship between the pair was so well expressed that I was fine to leave it at that.
