I did not know the brothers on Malcolm in the Middle graduated together! Did Malcolm skip ahead or Reese(?) get held back or what? I stopped watching but now I'm curious.

The last couple seasons were less funny than the earlier ones, and the characters tended to be more annoying (though they felt like they kind of had actual reasons for being more annoying, like being teenagers and having family problems and stuff, unlike a lot of sitcoms). But it wasn't very severe, and the finale was AMAZING. It's like one of my five favorite finales of any show ever, appropriate mixture of nightmarish fucked-up-ness and epic heartwarming and all.
