Secret 1

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is four screen-captures of different TV shows. The first has Malcolm and Reese from the TV show "Malcolm In The Middle" wearing red graduation robes and caps. The second one is a green monster with a long neck in front of a banner that says "Congratulations! Class of 1999", from the TV show "Buffy The Vampire Slayer". The third one is Cory and Topanga wearing dark graduation robes and caps, from the TV show "Boy Meets World". Topanga is smiling. The fourth one is Kim Possible and Ron from the cartoon series "Kim Possible". They are wearing black graduation robes and caps. Ron looks worried.]

I bawl my eyes out over every single TV episode centered around a high school graduation, regardless of what the atmosphere or plot of the actual episode was.

Secret 2

[Picture is actress Lena Headey playing the character Cersei Lannister from the TV show "Game Of Thrones". She is a blonde woman with long hair, brown eyebrows and gray eyes. She is wearing expensive clothes and a medallion around her neck. She looks dignified.]

From the beginning I hated her character. Didn't really know why, but something about her just rubbed me in the wrong way.

Now watching season 3, I finally figured out... It's because she sounds so much like Keira Knightley. Now that I know this, I almost like her... I guess my dislike was mostly about associating the voice/accent with someone else and my brain did not compute.

Secret 3

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the cast of the anime "Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu". Left from right there is a young man with short red hair, a young girl with dark blue hair, a young boy with short blue hair, a young girl with short brown hair, a young boy with short brown hair, a young girl with dark pink hair pulled back with a yellow bow, and a young girl with long pale pink hair. They all appear to be wearing school uniforms consisting of a white short-sleeved shirt or blouse, a short red skirt and short red tie for the girls, and blue pants/trousers and a short blue tie for the boys.]

I usually hate harem anime. And this one in particular has so many problematic aspects. Groping "psycho-lesbians", a yandere played for laughs, and it's filled with ecchi humour and there's this guy who keeps taking pictures of girls, and then there's jiggling and bouncing and god knows what else.

And yet. It's so fucking funny, especially when it does not rely on that sort of humour. And Minami's backstory (about how she moved from Germany to Japan and had huge communication problems because she didn't understand the language well) moved me to tears. And I just genuinely ship every single harem-member with the main character. (Well, except for his sister.)

yandere = a girl that shows her love by being aggressive or violent towards the object of her affections

ecchi = perverted, sexual

Secret 4

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Pictures are four different pictures of various famous couples. The first one is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the second one is Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem, the third one is Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, and the fourth one is Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. They are all wearing appropriately elegant clothes.]

If you meet on set and start dating I stop believing your on-screen relationship. It's called ACTING. I know this is totally irrational.

In before: chill, OP, work place romance.

Secret 5

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Anne Prince and her husband Wil Wheaton. They are smiling excitingly at a camera. She has a golden-tinted medium-length brown hair, and he has very short dark brown hair, mustache and beard. They appear to be wearing casual clothing, and it looks like they're attending a hockey game where Los Angeles Kings are or were playing.]

If I can have a relationship like theirs, I don't think I'll need anything else in the world to be happy.

Secret 6

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Topanga from the TV show "Boy Meets World" cringing and looking at Cory, who is blissfully hugging Shawn, who is wearing a black leather jacket and has his back to the camera. There is the caption "Stop it. You're boys." in the image.]

I know it's usually just meant to be a joke, but I get intentionally angry whenever fiction portrays guys showing physical affection for each other as unnatural, ridiculous, gross, immature or lame.

Secret 7

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Lily Collins wearing a leather jacket and a black blouse underneath. She has long brown hair. Behind her and to her side is Jamie Campbell with medium-length blonde hair, a gray v-necked T-shirt with leather suspenders and glyph-like tattoos all over his chest and arms. They are playing characters from the upcoming movie "Mortal Instruments: City of Bones".]

I don't understand how they can make her look great and him look terrible in the promotional shots.

Secret 8

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is a cropped promotional image of the movie "Now You See Me". A long-haired red-headed woman wearing a black dress and gloves is walking next to other people wearing entirely black clothing. Over the picture, there are two faint superimposed images of Conan O'Brien.]

I dragged my friends to see this movie with me when I found out a certain person was in it. When they asked why, I liked and told them it was for Jesse Eisenberg. (It wasn't for Jesse Eisenberg at all... They'd make fun of me for life if they knew the truth.)

Secret 9

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is a promotional picture of the TV show "Orphan Black". It shows the face of a brown-eyed woman. Her mouth and nose appear to be duplicated on each side of her face.]

People keep recommending this to me. I say I'm not interested... But I know that I would be if the cast was mostly male instead of mostly female.

Secret 10

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is a city at nighttime. It has many tall buildings close together and there is a green and slightly blue illumination coming from the windows and many city lights.]

I don't feel I can do justice to anywhere I've lived if I write it as a setting for original fiction. Likely because I'm not very fond and don't have a broad experience of where my "roots" are and mildly conscious of my not born/raised "you don't get our nationalism" status of where I am now (though really very mild on the spectrum of this sort of thing).

Setting it anywhere else is pretty iffy regarding "write what you know". So that's why fanfic/sci-fi/fantasy is what I want to focus on.

Secret because: Don't I have to deal with my microscopic issues through embarrassingly whiny reality based writing instead of sticking my head in clouds.

Secret 11

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the Japanese cover picture of the 3DS video game "Harvest Moon: A New Beginning". It has a young woman and a young man wearing farming clothes next to many farm animals and produce, in a cute art style.]

Fucking announce new games at Electronic Entertainment Expo and I don't even get this one. Fuck North America getting all the good shit while we wait and wait and wait with no fucking news at all.

Fuck this, no news anywhere except wiki says we'll get it in the third quarter of 2013 but there's NO ACTUAL sources for that ANYWHERE and no game sites even list it!! One of the highest-rating games they've ever made and I'm never going to get to fucking play it and preorder bonuses are obviously the fuck out. FUCK THIS. PIRATING and NEVER buying it.

Secret 12

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is The Janitor, a man with short brown hair wearing a janitor uniform, carrying Elliot, a woman with short blonde hair and hospital scrubs, in his arms, bridal style, from the TV show "Scrubs". They're both looking at someone off-screen.]

In my rewatch of this show, I'm kind of sad nothing ever came of this. It's a really weird ship, but it's still kind of cute. Hell, not even a "secret Best Friends Forever" thing, really?? They went with Cox and the Janitor, but not Elliot???

Secret 13

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is the musical group "My Chemical Romance." Gerard Way has bright red hair and everyone is wearing little to no makeup and they generally look less brooding than in previous iterations.]

Sometimes, I just wanna tell other fans to shut up. The music has changed but the messages are still the same, I think. This band loves you for who you are. Yes, it's happier. Yes, the guys have wives and children. Yes, they're more colorful. Yes, they're happier now. But they're still the same band! If you don't like their newer stuff, okay. Just listen to their older stuff then! Stop your bitching please.

Secret 14

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is light blue and orange text on a blank white background.]

I have a couple Real Person Fic secrets I'd like to share:

1 - My beef with it isn't that it's about real people. It's that I don't watch interviews or promotional stuff, so I have no idea what personalities these people have. It's like reading fic in a fandom I'm not a part of.

2 - I actually like Real Person Fic that stays true to the actor's personal life: If they're married, it has to be written into the fic (infidelity is a kink of mine, so that's a plus).

I'm not even going to read the comments for this. They'll probably be all about what a disgusting, sorry excuse for a human being I am for objectifying real people and their marriages like this.

Secret 15

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Grandma Ethyl Phillips from the live action TV show "Dinosaurs". She's the puppet of a dinosaur dressed as an elderly woman, with an old-fashioned set of glasses, dress and head-dress, sitting on a comfortable-looking chair.]

I have a lecturer who's a noted hardass. I've had unpleasant run-ins with her before. I was really not looking forward to more classes with her. Then somebody pointed out how much she looks like Ethel. Now every lecture is a fight to keep from laughing.

Secret 16

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is a beautiful watercolor painting of a peacock.]

Fandom made me realize tattoos could be beautiful. I am getting a similar image on my shoulder. Before fandom I never would have considered it.

Secret 17

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2013-07-03 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is an image with the logotype of the pen and paper roleplaying game "Dungeons & Dragons" on an image that looks like very old, yellowed paper. There is a large sad face emoticon painted on the right by the secret maker.]

The entire reason I started playing Dungeons & Dragons was because I liked the idea of being a fantasy character; something other than a boring human. But a friend in my group has been copying EVERYTHING I do. He switched his character to be the same as mine (and therefore has the same spells and abilities as me), and now during our last session even transforms into the same animal as I do, when that was totally MY thing that was a huge part of my character's backstory.

His copying is taking out all of the fun I had feeling unique. I know it's just pretend, but even so. At this point I'm ready to quit the game because it isn't fun anymore.

[Picture is a simple ink illustration of a person next to a tree.]

I have this original story I have been developing with my friends since 2005. They occasionally pressure me to make it public as a book, but I resist. Not because I think it won't be the huge success they dream it'd be, but because I'm deathly afraid that people might like it and then become disappointed with the course of the story later on.

Also I have the feeling that a lot of things in it have since been done several times already and many just won't see anything special about it.
