I can see where you're coming from, OP. In my case, if the actors have broken up, it will make it very awkward for me to ship the people they play together. Idk, I start thinking, 'Isn't it kind of awkward breaking up but having to keep kissing/doing sex scenes/etc. together?' and the love I have for the ship will decrease because of that, to the point it gets un-shippable.
