If you're unfamiliar with Word Wars, someone starts a thread and for 15 minutes, people who want to write, write. At the end, they post a word count and maybe something about what they wrote. Sometimes you can say "whoever wrote the most words wins" which is where the name comes from, but we don't have to do it this way.

So, I'm going to start a war in about 10 minutes (which would be 6:45 p.m. my time). For simplicity's sake across time zones, I'm going to call it :45. (If there were four more in a row, they would be 1:00, 1:15 etc.) I'll make a reply to this comment for anyone who wants to play. If you see this, say, five minutes after my war has started and you want to start your own, just leave your own reply to this comment right here with a time (preferably sticking with the time-zone neutral thing).

I'm well aware this could just be me talking to myself a lot, but maybe it will be fun and productive.

This word war will start in 7 minutes.

I wrote a whopping 113 new words, but if you count the paragraph I moved around and did some minor retooling to, it comes in at 176. This is basically how I'm trying to push through a love scene I've been stalled on for weeks.

It's a m/m fic where two friends (one openly bi to the other but it's not general knowledge to their friends, one apparently straight) become secret fuckbuddies with the unspoken caveat that it's only when drunk or desperate, but then they have a canonical falling out. After that, this is their first time together after a life-threatening incident and it's also the first time that what they're doing actually qualifies as making love.

To quote Phoebe (from Friends, though this is not that fandom): Awww!! I just thought you guys were doing it! I didn't know you were in love!!

I missed the previous one and no one participated as far as i can see, so here's one I'll be doing?

206 words! It was about a character who's backstory, personality, etc have been floating around in my head for a while but i have yet to write in any way. until now, i guess.

This one went a little better (I'm the anon writing about the friends who have had sex before but are making love for the first time). The straight one of the pair has realized the beauty of a good bruise.

72 words of a weird AU what-if fic centered around a bad-end that you'd have to level grind for roughly ten years to ever see. Had to piss so i was only writing for roughly half the time :/
