ooooh

That looks like Doodle or Die, except...maybe better? DoD has a few major drawbacks (lots of random dick drawings by immature people and other chain-breaking that isn't really deterred, a chain limit of 18, a rather sparse palette) but I don't know much about this site at all. Sadly, I'm not terribly comfortable signing in with one of my social network IDs so maybe I will check it out again when it gives me the option of registering directly.

The sign-in with a social network is a bit of a draw back, but it is only for login and troll/spambot prevention, they NEVER post to your wall/feed etc or ask you to promote it there. You have sharing options down at the bottom but you can ignore them- I do! And once you login, you don't have to go by your real name, you can create a username. I'm RCT there.

There's a flagging system for reporting trolls/intentional derailers/nsfw in a sfw game. Does a pretty good job keeping the nsfw stuff in clearly-marked nsfw games. The basic palette is pretty decent (16 colors), and you can buy special one-game palettes (greyscale, neon, etc) with in-game coins. I think DoD might have larger games, because DC games are for 12 or 15 players, or 24 (which costs coins).

They've recently changed the point system so the number of coins you get scales with your level, it used to be just 3 every level. Which was fine at low level because you can advance really quickly but at high levels you want to play in vet games, buy palettes, etc. And while you have the option of purchasing them with real currency, there's nothing you can get in the game art store that you can't get just by earning them by playing the game. Unlike many other apps, they never pressure you to give them your cold hard cash.

re: logging in: Thanks! I still don't like clogging my fb with apps/doing anything that connects my real name to an online username, but I might try it out by signing in with Google. I don't really use that account for anything social media-wise, but it has the major advantage of also not having my real name on it (so that I can email people I meet online if I want to, basically).

re: nsfw/derailing: the nsfw part doesn't bother me so much, but the derailing does bother me a lot. The reason I complain about random dicks is less because they're silly cartoon dicks and more because they're usually responses to something that has nothing to do with dicks, completely derail and break chains, and always make me think they're drawn by some 15-year-old guy going "hurr look I can draw a dick!!". Anyway, it sounds awesome that they have good measures against trolling or derailing, and for sorting sfw/nsfw games!

re: upgraded palettes: that sounds really cool!

I think you have convinced me to at least give this site a try :D

eta: I went ahead and signed up with my Google account as cyanraichu :D
