Games thread is for logged-on users?

I think that was just the Never Have I Ever game yesterday, so it wouldn't get out of hand.

The games thread is for any games, but whoever starts the thread for a specific game can specify anon/logged-in (the I Never game had a reason for it, so anons couldn't just randomly claim points)

I don't think a D&D campaign would work. If you included like 20 people or "anyone that wanted to play," it'd be way too much of a trainwreck to keep track of. If you only included 4-5 people like a normal campaign, I'd say take it elsewhere because a private thread solely for those 4-5 people (that everyone else can only watch) belongs on its own community

okidoke -- it was a passing thought guess I didn't think it through -- thanks case!

....I can't see that going well. Using the comments section to organize a D&D game, sure, but the amount of threads and comments that roleplaying can generate would probably take up enough space to get relegated to page 3 or outright kicked out of the comm.

It'd be much more feasible to have a game elsewhere online and use a regular F!S thread as a 'home base' to recruit players, provide plot summaries, and coordinate things.

That...wouldn't really work all that well. Even if you were using an out-of-the-box campaign it would be complicated, and probably not work so well.
