I know this is late, but...(kinkmeme question)

Is it a faux pas to request non-explicit/PG-13 fic on a kinkmeme? If so, how much of one? I ask because they're often the only place to obtain fic for smaller fandoms and/or rarepairs, so I'm often tempted to ask, but I don't want to be "that one person" if you know what I mean.

It depends on the kinkmeme and the fandom, honestly. Some are porn only, others are more open to gen. Most memes have a questions/concerns/mod contact post- if you can't tell how your fandom swings just by skimming the meme, there's no harm in asking.

Also, there are plenty of kinks which don't necessarily always involve sex, so sometimes things can wiggle in that way if you're willing to get a little creative.

Depends on the meme. If in doubt, PM a mod to ask for a rules clarification.

Depends on the Kinkmeme but I have found that most don't care about even gen fic so I would check the FAQ and see if other people have posted non-porn prompts.

Most of the kinkmeme's I've been a member in don't seem to mind, so I would go ahead and ask? Unless you've got good reason to think they wouldn't be open to it.

Like everyone else said, depends on the kmeme. The one I go to is very open to, and has lots of genfic.

Yeah, as everyone else has said, it really depends on the kinkmeme. Have a look around at things that have already been prompted to get a sense of the culture, I guess.
