sa, I don't agree with the last anon that Mikkelsen's pronunciation is any obstacle to the plot, but no. Not only is your comment about subtitles ridiculous, but they should not be necessary for a show in which the dialogue is exclusively in English.

Ah! Lmao, sorry, then. Honestly, I use subtitles any time I don't understand the dialogue after listening twice (this has only happened once on Hannibal, a million times on other shows), but when it comes to fandomsecrets, there's no telling. People get critical about the most random shit and even comments that are mild in nature suddenly get responses that want to dress them down. I've gotten to the point that I assume people are serious when they say things, because sarcasm or irony is totally lost on a lot of people here...

I hate using subtitles, because they're distracting--they invariably absorb all my attention and I find I've barely taken in anything else. Maybe the OP of the secret feels the same way.

No? I love subtitles, but when people aren't speaking English well-enough for me to understand it, it's really distracting, it completely ruins the atmosphere, and it pulls me out of the story. I'd have to use subtitles and watch it on mute, and that loses a lot of other important sounds (background music, for one.)

If it comes to that, I'll just read a book.

Clearly. I mean, that's why we all agree on the pronunciation of "pecan". We've taken the time to discuss not only the vocabulary and vocabulary, but whole realms of things like speaking clearly and projection.

Strange, because I've been hearing this complaint from non-Americans too. (Mostly Canadians.)

The odd thing is, in interviews he sounds perfectly clear. I think he's mumbling his words on purpose. I think it's an actor's choice for Hannibal rather than his Dane accent.
