I don't have any trouble understanding him... I love the accent, but I don't think this secret is actually related to that. I'm an American who, through various means, have known a number of Danish people, and I doubt the accent is the problem. (Honestly, in my experience the pronunciation of things is often so similar that I've had to ask before knowing they're not native English speakers). I haven't noticed any oatmeal speech but it might just be the way you interpret this specific guy, not necessarily the accent itself..?

Ditto and I'm a ESL who doesn't know any Danish.

There're many ENS actors I have a hard time understanding, though :/

Me too... there are some English-speaking actors/celebrities who have a terrible case of mushmouth.
