Rachel Rising and Comixology
(Anonymous) 2013-07-09 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)Also, I have a question about Comixology. I got all the issues up until now from a file-sharing site, but I want to buy them from now on for my ipad. The thing is, I already have an app for reading Comic books, and I don't want to install Comixology. Can I buy an issue on my laptop and transfer it to my ipad manually?
Actually, TL:DR: what kind of file does Comixology sell? 'Cause if it's .cbr, or cbz or whatzit, I can work with that.

The way it works on computer is that you just read them in-browser through their site. This is also doable on mobile browsers (including blackberry's playbook, since their app support for anything is basically zilch). What the app does is let you download purchases for offline reading, and also use Comixology's guided view which is the best thing ever imo. I can't think of a .cbr/etc. reader that has that kind of thing, so I would really recommend just grabbing the app.
but yeah, tl;dr, there is no transfer involved.
