I feel ya - it was pure luck that I found out what I was suited to do with my life, and I know a lot of people my age (nearly 30) who still haven't ever worked a job that they clicked with in that way. Irl sorting mechanisms are not very effective.

Out of curiosity, what do you do?

ideally: tax accounting. it is my true vocation NO REALLY. I need to finish up passing the SEE exam before anyone is going to give me a year-round job in it, so right now I have a pretty unthrilling finance-related job that at least ought to help me get that dream tax job one day. (ETA: I feel like getting any kind of cognitive jollies from your job is something of a crapshoot until you've tried a few different things. Like, a lot of people use shelf-stocking as a shorthand for shit jobs but when I did it I found it fairly soothing and satisfying. Door-to-door flyering was the shittest job I ever had, but even that became a chance to ruminate on the whats and whys of front gardens.)

Door to door stuff is pretty shitty. I'm glad you found out what you like doing now!
