I have this unsettling feeling whenever I hear or see or read anything about Reimu in the early Touhou games. Crash-course here: Reimu Hakurei is the protagonist of the Touhou games and her job is to exterminate (beat up) spirits and creatures. Any spirit and creature. She gets better from the sixth game onwards (helping them, making close friends with them) but My God was she a prick in the first five games!! (or so the characterization says).

I think that's why the creator of the Touhou games literally retconned the first five games and declared them not-canon. Well, that and whole story/plot of all of them were a bit inconsistent.

Also, although almost everyone agrees that the old games were... *problematic*, they also like some of it's villains and want the creator to re-introduce them back to the main series (preferably with a better back-story). He has already rescued two characters from the Scrappy Heap and most fans are now waiting for several others to jump ship. So far... nothing.
