I think that if she's in the show, she's used to reading fucked up shit. Just because someone's an actor doesn't mean they like all vanilla stuff. It's uncomfortable when people sent actors stuff because you don't know if the actor is ok with it, but if they go looking for it? They'll survive, I'm sure.

I eagerly await the day she points to folks in the audience at a con "You! And you! You'd be adorable together. KISSSSSSS"

What ep is that picture from?

[Picture is a screen-shot of a Twitter post by the actress Kacey Rohl, who plays Abigail Hobbs in the TV show "Hannibal". There is also a larger picture of her as a background, behind the Twitter post. The Twitter handle is "KaceyKadoodles" and her post says: sitting around reading Hannibal fanfic because its rad. This seriously freaks me out. It's like the opposite of what normally happens (creepy fangirl/fanboy sends actor fanfic and actor gets skeeved), and it's just as uncomfortable. Now when I read fic, I feel like she's reading over my shoulder and... *shudder*. Go away, girl, if you know what's good for you! Here be monsters!

I found it really hilarious when people were sending her those creepy tweets like "are mads hands soft" and she was retweeting them without commenting. I love this girl (though I'm also not too comfortable with having any actors in fandom, so I avoid her tumblr at least).

I think she was in fandom before she started working in Hannibal (iirc from a tumblr post),so she probably knows what she's getting in.Plus,maybe she's not reading hardcore Hannibal/Abigail or Will/Abigail,maybe it's the cute fluffy stuff.

Don't send her recs! Even if she's in fandom and reading fic reccing always just seems over the line creepy.

Haha, I love this woman. And why are you acting like she's some delicate creature? She's not exactly on a family friendly show. I'm sure most fanfic isn't enough to phase her.

She is so adorable, but yeah, that is a bit...unnerving.

I kinda have the feeling that she knows about the porn but just laughs it off. **This is not to give the go-ahead in sending her recs!!!** If she wants to delve into the wilds of fandom, she does so at her own risk, but don't anybody be a creep now.

I don't get the big deal. If you don't want actors to read fanfic, don't post it in a place that's easily accessible. I swear, it's like some people think actors have no idea how to use the internet

I'd say don't send her recs. If she wants to go into the dark depths of the internet -- it is her choice. The forth wall is the forth wall that shalt not be broken for a reason.

I think as the younger actors are coming in, more and more will have been "internet fans" at some point in their life. I mean, Penn Badgely was a forum user for Incubus (p.funk) and has been mocked for it on the web. I think Troian from PLL had a livejournal too.

I always get weirded out when actors and fandom collide, but then I don't expect anyone outside of fandom bubbles to really take to fandoms well, especially the shipping/fanfiction(shippy/porny fanart too now that I think about it) side of things because I can only imagine how odd it looks to outside eyes.

I wouldn't suggest sending her a rec list though, it's one thing for her to read it herself, it's entirely another to actually send fic to her.

How dare actors be fans of the material they're in?
Most people starr in such material just because they are fans. Or they even make movies just because they are fans. See Peter Jackson, Simon Pegg, Guillermo Del Toro, etc.

Is she underage or something? Or has delicate sensibilities? Why should she be treated any different from any other fan especially as she's making it clear that she's a fan too. There's nothing skeevy here. So she likes the stuff she's working with.

If you don't feel comfortable sending her recs for any of several good reasons, then don't. But it's kind of stuck up to expect the pros to observe a different set of rules when they are really fans like any one else.

Yes, I'm sure you know much better than she does what she likes/can handle. Please. She can take care of herself.

She grew up in the industry and was in fandom before she started acting. I don't know if she's still in the SPN fandom but she's said that show was why she wanted to act. I only remember it because some people in the fandom went mad when she she got a bit part in an episode last year.

Frankly, I'm more curious about who she ships or if she ships at all. I mean, is she reading about her character? Is she a slash fan? DOES SHE HAVE RECS?
