I used to ship it until all the reboot fics where KS shippers broke up Spock and Uhura for Kirk Spock in the most unbelieveable and harsh of ways. It was very easy to tell which authors hated Spock and Uhura due to how they broke them up or how mean they wrote Uhura. Since many don't warn for it, I couldn't read any KS without seeing break up SU, another pairing I ship so I don't read fic for KS anymore. I now stick to SU, Kirk McCoy and Spock McCoy. I miss KS fics at times.

The Kirk/Spock shippers are transparent.
If I can be honest though it is not the disingenuous shipping or the spock/uhura hate that surprise me or bugs me. As a Uhura fan foremost I care about her being respected and well written (and if you hate her ignore her) but it just boggles my mind that they can ship her with someone she doesn't even interact with justifying it with the final frontier movie where my bb Uhura had been used by Sybok and Scotty didn't even want her. How can you even claim that the writers of tff better developed her and gave her a better love interest than Abrams? u kidding, right? hate it or like it but Spock and Uhura are in an actual relationship and it's mutual feelings no one is messing with her head or forcing anyone. Free will >>>> forced feelings ALWAYS. at least for me but maybe I'm the weird one..
