Word Wars!

(Anonymous) 2013-07-10 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Because apparently word wars are the only way I get any writing done. If you missed it last time, the rules are pretty simple. When somebody wants to start a 15-minute war, they make a reply to this comment with when it starts. To make time zones easy, I'd suggest we do it in terms of "hours since the post went live (pretending like it did so at its normal time, and not early today)."

So, for instance, I want to start one at 15 minute after the hour, so I would make a reply to this thread that said "00:15" in the subject line. When the time comes, whoever wants to participate, just starts writing on whatever they want to be writing (in their own document, not in a comment).

When time is up, post a reply to the 00:15 thread with how many words you wrote, and if you want, a little bit about what you wrote. Highest number wins.

1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a word war.

The first word war starts in nine minutes!

I wrote 205 words that mostly seem to be about brushing teeth. Well, there's a lot of thought going on, but the main action for 205 words is tooth brushing. At least it's not six-page "learning to shave" scene, which I wrote for last year's nano.

Going to start another word war at 15 minutes past the hour.

234 words!

The "straight" protagonist just realized how incredibly selfish he's been when it comes to pleasing his bi FWB (read: he hadn't been doing a damn thing).
