Re: Most hated fic premises

I've always been confused by the definition of kidfic. Is it de-aging a character, and if so, just physically or physically and mentally? Is it giving a character a kid? IDEK.

I DO know that my mental "kid!John Watson" looks like the kid from "Love Actually" and someday I will write that fic. (I've actually already written little pieces of it, but I'm stuck as to what case John and Sherlock could be working on, where they could take advantage of John looking like a 12-year-old.)

But yeah, I'm tired of kidfics where a character is turned completely into a tot. But give me an exasperated adult in a wee body, and it can be quite fun, still.

Depends on who's using the term, but either way? I hate it.

Kidfic can just be writing about the characters when they were kids.
