Re: Most hated fic premises

Most Fix-It Fics don't work for me at all. I mean, there's usually a REASON why whatever they're trying to fix had to happen. The only fix-its I've ever liked are the subversions of the trope where the fix makes everything a million times worse.

I'm also not into kidfic or high school fics, and I've hardly ever liked a college fic either.

Oh god yeah, especially if it is a fixfic of The Simpsons or Ranma where one character is just going to solve everything and all the other characters will suddenly stop acting like cloudcuckoo idiots.

If I see another "Marge gets fed up with Homer's shit and walks out taking her kids to a better school" fic (nevermind we've seen in canon what happens when a character tries to leave and act like a normal person) or another Ranma fic where Ranma gets fed up with Genma's shit and walks out leaving the fiancees behind (and we've seen in canon what happens when that is tried) I may just snap and grab my whacking stick and hunt down the authors. You can find fics like that in every fandom, hell I saw an NCIS one where McGee sues Gibbs for workplace harassment and gets Tony thrown in jail (or it could have been sued Tony and had Gibbs jailed, I really cannot remember) in the name of "fixing" the character screw ups, and everyone was fine and applauded McGee for doing it or just laid down and let him. Seriously, they are just stupid.
