This is really embarrassing, but when I was younger I used to be a... sort of like a weeaboo, but instead of being obsessed with anime, I was obsessed with heavy metal, and I thought all the Scandinavian countries were metalhead utopias full of long-haired Viking badasses who always wear black clothes and facepaint.

And I'm wondering, is this a common thing? I mean, do you get a lot of people moving to Norway because they want to be in a Norwegian metal band (like how weeaboos move to Japan because they think that will somehow turn them into successful manga artists)?

No we do not, we get a lot of people visiting Norway because of our Metal bands though, mostly for concerts or music festivals, and we are pretty known for it outside of Norway. Tbh I don't think I can name one Norwegian Metal band, so you did really ask the wrong person...

Was that good enough? I could try googling or asking around a bit if you want to know more!
