gender is not just societal, it's psychological. somebody who mentally does not match up with their physical body isn't just "dressing up," they feel incredibly uncomfortable in their own body and it causes a number of issues for people who identify as trans*.

people who cross-dress are not necessarily trans*, just fyi. many cisgender people cross-dress. your views of sex and gender aren't very accurate.

So, you're saying trans* is a mental illness instead? Ah, okay! That makes sense.

i get that you're trying to be snarky, but people who actually study gender dysphoria generally do not consider it a mental "illness"/disorder. if you're genuinely interested in educating yourself, there are a number of resources available online. here's one.

It is a mental illness though. You wouldn't pretend the voices someone who suffers with Schizophrenia hears are real, you wouldn't tell someone with Bipolar that their mood swings are natural. Patting people on the head and telling them it's okay to mutilate themselves because they have the delusion they're the opposite sex isn't helping them. It's pretty unhealthy!

i can see you're only fixated on causing me and other trans* people emotional harm for your own laughs, so i will leave you to that, but i will not be a part of it.

NA
Wow, sometimes people don't agree with you. That doesn't mean their out for "laughs."

a blatant lack of willingness to educate oneself on trans* issues when engaging somebody who identifies as trans* is pretty antagonistic. forgive me if my attempts to protect myself come off as paranoid.

I'm sorry no one tried to help you deal with your mental illness. I'm sorry some people think it's okay to let you mutilate yourself. I hope someday there is a cure!
