Even though it's painfully obvious most of them ship it for exactly this reason, as seen abovethread? I could see that, actually.

yeah, they act defensive when people call that a disingenuous ship even though they're so obvious anyway. LOL ^ my boyfriend isn't even in the fandom and he noticed it.

I'm undecided now if I should be wary about Bones/Carol too. I'm seeing a lot of spirk fans liking that as well and while I definitely see it as a possibility because of the last movie, part of me can't help but wonder if it's just another fix to get rid of any girl getting in the way of spirk (it's so obvious that the writers want to put her with Kirk that I already can't stand it)
I like the idea of that but I don't want to read the fanfictions if everything I'll get is a K/S fest where Bones/Carol is there for pretty much the same reason they mention Scotty/Uhura.
