I didn't realize Uhura died and was resurrected? I'd expect someone who's friend actually died to have some reaction. I'm sorry but a friend crying over another friend isn't grounds for a break up. That's just silly on your part.

No anon don't you see, if your partner cries over their best friend dying, but not over you for, idk walking into a bad situation that you managed to get out of okay, then you should break up with them because OMG they don't love you!
ONLY TEARS PROVE LOVE. NO TEARS NO LOVE.

Also during the volcano bit Spock looked fucking upset as hell and I bet that wasn't only over the prospect of never getting to see Kirk his friends again.

Spock has the most interesting character development in that movie but some people don't get it because they're so focused in finding excuses to proclaim K/S queer baiting.
It's not true that he didn't care about losing his girlfriend when he thought he was dying, quite the opposite is true: the point was him caring so much for her that he had to shut down feelings because it was too painful otherwise. It mirrors a bit his reaction when his mother died or Sarek's reaction, for that matter.. (and we know how much Sarek loved Amanda) He couldn't bear the thought of losing another person he loves and the thought of how she'd feel when he died.
Watching a friend die without being able to do anything to help him after he sacrificed his life to save the whole ship (and YOU) is another matter though. NO ONE in that whole ship could know what Kirk was feeling in that moment more than Spock (remember he mind melded with Pike when he was dying) I don't get people expecting him to have no reaction whatsoever. Didn't Spock admit in the other movie that when his mother died he felt an anger he could not contain? He almost choked Kirk to death because of that, yo. Vulcans feel more than humans if you get that then you get the whole point and why they need control so much and why Spock really is the most emotional character here.

I heartily concur nonnie, Spock may not be emotionally demonstrative but he certainly has and feels emotion. And lets face it everyone on that damn ship loves each other, they're a family.
