in the case of one of my friends, she is a phenomenal fic writer but has terrible anxiety when it comes to people watching what she does. she has almost 500 followers and frequently remarks to me how nerved out it makes her feel. and this is her... eighth or ninth tumblr, as well as her fourth skype name switch. (she'll add people who are nice only to find that she is not comfortable talking to them after a while. i'm about the only person she talks to constantly.)

i think being a popular fan is very stressful because i've noticed some of the most brilliant, sweet, and charming people tend to have bad anxiety. :(

And now we've got another reason.

I'm sorry for your friend. I hope one day she finds a place or a way or something to be comfortable.
